Design Process

This is a ground floor apartment of an existing -under construction- building. Insufficient natural light and restrictions placed from the existing bearing structure were the problems we were asked to face during the study.

The main goal was the functional layout of the apartment’s interior. The floor plan was organized in two zones, the common living areas and the private areas. To make the most of natural light, we placed the kitchen, the dining room and the living room where we could form large windows. This space is organized in an open-plan layout, without partition walls so that it remains bright providing a continuous movement and flow in the apartment. In the private areas, there are two bedrooms, a shared bathroom, laundry and storage.

The ceilings are formed in simple lines, incorporating hidden lighting to enhance the brightness where required. For the flooring, large tiled cladding for the living areas and the wooden floors for the private spaces were chosen, giving a warmer feeling to these spaces. Furniture, accessories and further constructions are covered in earthy tones.

The combination of soft materials and textures, bright and earthy shades exude calmness and relaxation, avoiding strong contrasts.

What people say

High aesthetics, respect and professionalism are the characteristics of the two architects we chose to undertake the renovation and conversion of our old house into a tourist accommodation. From the creative phase- the design and the study- to its implementation, our collaboration was flawless. After all, the result rewarded us all, the architects for the study and the impeccable design but also us-  as owners – for our choice. Thank you for everything!
